Pande Gde Supada
For Pande Gde Supada, this moment
is a transitional period. It is a transitional period for his artistic
career where he contemplated and traveled into a new vision.
A vision of apprehension and self-meditative.
He takes this moment to reorganize his creativity and spirituality
into a more evocative metamorphosis. “My works” he says,
“are not based only what I can see with my eyes, but also
on what I can see and feel in my contemplation. Through this process
my paintings are born.”
Supada's inspiration is found in contemplation and
meditation, an interior dialogue with himself and the collective
conscious. The layered, scratchy surfaces of many of his paintings
are reminiscent of ancient caves.
As we enter we find ourselves blind for a moment
as our eyes adjust to the low light. At a certain moment we are
unsure if the forms we see on the walls are natural, created over
the centuries, or ancient paintings, faded and covered with layers
of time.
Meditation results in internal change
that manifests itself externally.
